Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is a great architectural work of the 20th century that brings together multiple strands of creativity and innovation in both, architectural form and structure. Jorn Utzon a Danish architect and Peter Hall were the inventors of this masterpiece. They started building it in 1959 but it wasn’t till 1973, when they inaugurated it. It’s one of the most famous places in Sydney, not only because is a performing arts centre, but also, because of the complex and almost impossible form it has.

Due to his popularity, nowadays , they offer many different activities and experiences to do and to learn about this Opera House. Such as, a walking tour. This tour of the Sydney Opera House, allows you to step beneath the sails of the building, which also includes exploring it with an insider guide, who shares stories and fun facts about the Opera House’s history. This tour costs only 28, 11 and it’s considered a family show.

If you want to visit the Opera House, but transport is problematic for you, don’t worry, Sydney has an extensive and easy public transport sistem, such as buses or trains. Sydney’s train network is an efficient way of traveling around the city, and I would definitely, recommend it. There is a train stop, the Circular Quay Station, that leaves you exactly in front of the Opera House.

If you prefer traveling with your own car, the Opera House offers discounts in the parking, on food and drinks, and in the gift shop only, if you are a membership. Being an Insider member is a huge benefit, and you can become one of them easily.

This unique building was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, on 28 June 2007. As well as the Taj Mahal, the ancient Pyramids of Egypt and the Great Wall of China, the Opera House is now considered as one of the most outstanding places on Earth.

To sum up, I think that there are many simple ways to go, see and learn about the Sydney Opera House, and if you go to Sydney, you should doubtlessly visit the best you can this special and peculiar achitecture.
